Slippery Rock Watershed Assessment
COLLECTED DATA

Water Quality DataWater samples were collected from 38 sites within the watershed: 8 on Blacks Creek, 12 on North Branch, 5 on Seaton Creek, and 13 on Slippery Rock Creek. The samples from two of the sites (both on Slippery Rock Creek) were tested for fecal coliform only. The other samples were tested for 14 parameters: total Aluminum, dissolved Aluminum, Iron, Manganese, Nitrates, Sulfate, pH, acidity, alkalinity, total dissolved solids, specific conductance, total hardness, turbidity, and fecal coliform. Samples were collected once a month for a year. The data will be available on DataShed in the near future.
Fisheries DataDuring July and August of 2003, 12 stations within the study area were electrofished. Four were on North Branch, two on Blacks Creek, two on Seaton Creek, and four on Slippery Rock Creek. In total, 19 fish species were found within the study area. The station with the most fish species, 16, was on North Branch. Two stations, one on Seaton Creek and the other on Slippery Rock Creek did not have any species.
Macroinvertebrate DataMacroinvertebrate sampling has not yet been conducted for this assessment. It will be completed in the spring of 2004, and the results of the sampling will be posted.
